General Program Information > Bumble Bees

Bumble BeesKCYSA offers four* and five year-olds the opportunity to participate in an exhibition program. Four and five year olds are not permitted on regular SAY teams [except for five-year olds who will become six in August or September AND who will be entering first grade]. To be eligible to play in the Bumble Bee program for the 2012 season, players must not turn six on or before July 31, 2012.

Bumble Bees play in their own community at a time and place determined by the coach and usually begin the season the first week in June to coincide with the beginining of the rec league season. Bumble Bees do not keep score or stress winning, rather they focus on developing skills and having fun! The fee to participate includes a jersey and a participation trophy. Players are responsible for providing their own gear, including shin guards, socks that cover the entire shin-guard (even if they are all-in-one sock/guards), non-metal soccer cleats (no toe cleats allowed) or tennis shoes and a ball. Bumble Bees use a size 3 ball.

If you are interested in coaching in the Bumble Bee program or have any questions, please contact Director of Coaches, Brian Teske at coaches@kcysa.org.

No refund policy: KCYSA has a no refund policy for registration fees collected, even if the player decides not to play prior to the start of the season. Thank you for respecting this policy.

*Since our season is considered a 'Spring season' players who turn four (4) years old prior to March 31 of the “playing year” may participate in our Bumbe Bee program. To participate in the 2012 season, the player must have turned 4 prior to March 31, 2012. This is in accordance to SAY Rule 1.3.A.
